This work was drawn for a friend. It is an exploration of simple geometry and grids to create perspective, movement, and space.

I Have the Whole World, 2015. Sharpie on drawing paper. 18″ x 24″

I created this sharpie drawing/collage in an attempt to capture a sliver of the whole world. The composition of tiles forms the narrative of a life lived.

Nothing

Nothing, 2015. Sharpie on drawing paper. 8.5″ x 11″

This work was a practice in abstract negative space and freehand drawing. The shapes here loosely spell the word “Nothing.”

Georgey Boy & the New World Order Diptych

Georgey Boy & the New World Order, 2015. Pencil and sharpie on drawing paper. 18″ x 24″

I created this diptych as a response to conspiracy theories that intrigued me, as well as how those theories connected to some of the symbolism on American currency. The textured background behind George Washington is hard to make out, but it is the text of the Declaration of Independence. I edited it to include only the grievances that apply to our government today. There is symbolism in all of the details of these pieces, much of which is in protest to violence and greed. The text in the pyramid is the description of the seal according to its original creator, Charles Thomson. Underneath the pyramid lies the fabled Hall of Records. And yes, the banner on which “Novus Ordo Seclorum” is written is made of toilet paper.
